Welcome to Desford Dental Care

We are an established dental practice based in Desford, Leicestershire. We offer a complete range of general and cosmetic dental services in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Desford Dental Care began in 2003 as a small two-surgery practice fronted by husband and wife duo Hanish and Shilpa Chotai. As the practice increased in success over the years, so did Hanish and Shilpa’s vision, and their desire to expand to brand new, state-of-the-art premises became a reality in 2011.

Today, Desford Dental Care is a modern, fully-equipped four-surgery practice with an experienced and friendly team of dentists, therapists, nurses and receptionists. We offer a wide range of general and cosmetic services in both dentistry and facial aesthetics.

Caring for you

We strongly encourage preventive techniques and will help you understand how to maintain the health of your mouth, keeping it free of tooth decay and gum disease.

One of our hygienists will also be able to advise you about your oral hygiene and give your teeth a thorough clean. Our aim is to provide patients with the best quality dental care by clearly explaining your treatment options and providing follow up support.

Once your dentist has recommended your course of treatment, our Treatment Coordinator will be on hand to guide you through your patient journey, offering help and guidance, discussing your treatment plan with you and answering any questions you may have. We offer various finance options to help spread the cost of your treatment.

We specialise in treating nervous patients

We understand that some patients may feel nervous or worried about a trip to the dentist. Our experienced team will be sympathetic to any worries you might have, and provide extra time and reassurance to help you become more confident visiting the dentist.

Cosmetic treatments

We offer a range of cosmetic treatment options, including implants, Inman Aligner, Six Month Smile and Invisalign invisible braces, as part of our customisable Smile Design package. We also offer facial aesthetics and rejuvenation treatments, including wrinkle reduction and dermal fillers.

Postgraduate foundation dentist training

We are a training practice, which means that our Practice Principal, Hanish Chotai, is fully qualified to train postgraduate dentists. Our current foundation dentist is Deepa Ahir, who joined us in September 2017.

What you can expect from us

  • We will listen to your concerns and needs, and try to explain clearly and thoroughly any treatments proposed.
  • All of our treatments are provided at the highest quality.
  • We will always provide a written estimate of any planned treatment, setting out any costs and fees if applicable (both NHS and Private).
  • We follow the latest cross infection guidelines.
  • We will apologise and make amends if we do not perform as we promise.
  • We will always be happy to give advice on how you can keep your teeth and gums healthy.

What we expect from our patients

  • That you give at least 48 hours notice if you have to cancel or change an appointment.
  • That you treat our staff with courtesy and respect.
  • That you pay your bills as requested on time. If you have any queries about the charges, please raise them with us early on so we can resolve them. If you are claiming help with the cost of NHS treatment, you will need to bring proof of entitlement. We accept cash and most credit and debit cards.
  • That you follow your dentist’s advice on oral hygiene to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
  • That you tell us if you are not happy with your treatment and care.

Complaints and suggestions

At Desford Dental Care, we try to ensure that all patients are happy with their experience of our service. Therefore, we take complaints very seriously. When patients complain, they are dealt with courteously and promptly so that the matter is resolved as quickly as possible. Any complaint or suggestion should be addressed to the Practice Manager.

Our aim is to react to complaints in the way in which we ourselves would want our complaint about a service to be handled. We learn from every mistake that we make and we respond to patients’ concerns in a caring and sensitive way.
