At Desford Dental Care, we can offer our patients a way to replace their missing or damaged teeth with a set of dentures.
What are dentures?
Traditional removable dentures are designed to replace either a full or partial set of teeth. Sitting on top of the gums, dentures are usually made of either a chrome or acrylic base and a set of prosthetic teeth. They are usually held in place with an adhesive and can be removed to be cleaned or for a more comfortable night’s sleep.
Why do I need dentures?
If you are living with multiple missing or damaged teeth, we may recommend a replacement of some kind. Dentures are just one method of replacing teeth, but they are extremely popular and cost-effective. At Desford Dental Care, we’re committed to helping maintain and preserve the long-term oral health of our patients, which is why we recommend replacing teeth wherever necessary and suitable.
What is the treatment process like?
Receiving dentures is usually carried out over several appointments. We’ll first take impressions and/or digital scans of the teeth and mouth. Your dentures will be made at a separate dental laboratory, and you’ll return to us here when they’re ready to be fitted.
Fitting your dentures often occurs over two appointments. This is to help make sure they are the right fit for you, and are comfortable and secure in the mouth.
