Endodontics refers to dental treatments that are concerned with the treatment of the interior of the tooth. We also often refer to this as the ‘dental pulp’.
The most common endodontic treatments are root canal treatments, and other treatments involved in removing infection at the root of the tooth. Some patients may need a re-root canal treatment, for example, or an apicoectomy.
Problems with the root of the tooth often cause increased sensitivity in the patient, toothache, or pain or difficulty biting down or chewing. Any of these symptoms could be an indication that you are in need of endodontic treatment, in which case we would advise you contact use here at the practice as soon as possible.
